I’d like to build my network and learn from comms and PR professionals with special skills in social justice and equalities, and in building resilient communities (in work, and in society).

I was employed as manager of a mental health charity in Ontario, Canada from 2011-2013. During this time I developed a partnership with the local university communications professor. Students of the university developed a communications and marketing plan as a real life project, which also built local engagement and brought in revenue. I also set up a community shop, and employed multiple mental health consumers to carry out paid projects from leaf and snow sweeping to painting and decorating. This improved their individual health and wellbeing, as well as supporting public health policy and creating a strong sense of community.
