Nicola's professional bio / interests
I've spent 10 years in a range of roles, starting out in marketing and business development before shifting into social impact research and consultancy. The last 3 years I've been working with charities, foundations, government bodies and philanthropists, researching and designing solutions to solve social challenges. I've been learning new skills in systems mapping, different qualitative design research practices, managing multi-agency partnerships and line managing some of our researchers along the way. I'm passionate about making things that work for people and doing the critical ground work through meaningful & proportionate research. Starting out in the commercial world before going non-profit helped me to learn the best user-centric approaches, and I'm now busy trying to apply them where it matters. I'm in a full time role but keeping eyes open for new contracts & opportunities.
I’d like help with…

I also for some strange reason became a sky running fanatic a few years ago, which means I'm generally waiting to fall off a cliff any minute...

A career highlight
Taking the decision to walk away from a business I had started, and take on a new role in a new industry learning things I knew nothing about.
