Fifty three years in b2b and consumer magazine publishing with Intermarket Developments, IPC/Reed ,United Newspapers/UMB, Focus Media, Time Warner, Time Inc . Helped found International Boat Industry (IBI) in 1968 and in 2017 led a buy out of the title from Time Inc ( the third MBO of my career ) and now happily CEO of the specialist b2b company Boating Communications Ltd. which publishes IBI, organises the Boat Builder Awards and provides market intelligence and sales data for the marine leisure industry (a great team and an enjoyable industry to be involved with).

An interesting, or unusual fact(s) about me…
Last year I was involved in the BBC One programme Fake or Fortune which was examining the authenticity of an 18th century Venetian oil painting I own.. was it or was it not a Guardi worth millions? Filming in Venice, Florence and London with Philip Mould and Fiona Bruce was enjoyable and the research involved was meticulous.
A career highlight
Persuading Reed Business Publishing to sell IBI to myself (it`s editor) in 1983 at the last minute rather than to another major publishing house.
