Fred‘s professional bio / interests
Fred Paterson is Associate Professor for Sustainable Business at University of Derby Business School. He leads the Low Carbon Business Network that provides business support to pro-environmental SMEs across the East Midlands. He also leads the DE-Carbonise Business project which support SMEs that supply eco-friendly, low carbon and sustainable goods and services. Fred also leads the Sustainable Business and Clean Growth research cluster. Fred also runs his own consultancy that supports local 'change makers' to accelerate the shift towards a fairer and more sustainable future.

A career highlight
I've made several radical career shifts - pivoting from engineering to education; from primary school teacher to leadership researcher; and from public sector leadership to sustainable business. It's been an exciting journey and supports the maxim that every discipline benefits from insight from beyond its own frame of reference.
