Fred‘s professional bio / interests
Fred Paterson is Associate Professor for Sustainable Business at University of Derby Business School where he leads the Sustainable Business and Clean Growth research cluster and Low Carbon Business Network that provides business support to pro-environmental SMEs across the East Midlands. Fred led the bids, design and delivery of the University's Low Carbon Project, DE-Carbonise Business project and Net Zero Accelerator programmes between 2016-2022. Fred also runs his own consultancy that supports local 'change makers' to accelerate the shift towards a fairer and more sustainable future.

A career highlight
I've made several radical career shifts - pivoting from engineering to education; from primary school teacher to leadership researcher; and from public sector leadership to sustainable business. It's been an exciting journey and supports the maxim that every discipline benefits from insight gleaned from beyond its own frame of reference.
