Vet tech manager, LLM vets
Nat‘s professional bio / interests
I am lead Vet Tech for LLM vets, a farm livestock only practice. I work from the Wrexham and Whitchurch practices, covering Cheshire, Shropshire and N Wales. I have worked in the agricultural industry for 38 years, starting off as an assistant herdsperson to managing four dairy units. I had a slight change of career in 2002, to become a lecturer at Reaseheath College, I managed the agricultural apprenticeship level 2 and 3. I moved up to Newton Rigg college as senior lecturer in 2014, with family commitments returning to North Wales and taking the Vet Tech position at LLM in 2017. I was chair of the trial blazer group who developed the level 5 Livestock vet tech Apprenticeship. I am also on the RCVS Paraprofessional working party, who tasked me with setting up a Vet tech association, thankfully I was had met James Kenworthy and with his expertise we have set the BVTA, we both have full time jobs so sometimes we may not respond straight away but we are passionate about developing the UK vet tech service and for it to be recognised as a great career and profession.

An interesting, or unusual fact(s) about me…
I used to play Rugby and was in the first women's 7s team to play in the county final at Twickenham and we WON! back in June 2000. I love challenges and have done a few Bike and Mountain charity ones - the best was our made up alternative triathlon -cycle C2C, kayak Lock Ness and then climb Ben Nevis Via the Arete.
