I received a short sharp shock in my early days when I ran the family bookmakers between A levels and University. Those were the days without computer assistance so I had to work bets out in my head. Thankfully it taught me customer service fairly early on in my career and helped as I progressed into Retail, FMCG and then launching my own agency.
