Ed Coburn

CEO, Cabot Wealth Network/Cabot Heritage Group

Ed's professional bio / interests

I started my career at Cahners Publishing Company, part of Reed Elsevier (now RELX). Was part of a group that started Cutter Information Corp. Left there to start Circadian Information and ran Harvard Health Publications (publishing division of Harvard Medical School). Worked as a lead consultant for Mequoda Group and ended up buying Cabot Heritage Corporation. Founded in 1970, Cabot has helped hundreds of thousands of individual investors around the world invest more profitably. Cabot currently has two primary brands -- Cabot Wealth Network and Financial Freedom Federation and more than 20 different advisory services. Cabot also owns an exchange traded fund (ETF) called Cabot Growth ETF which trades under CBTG. I was a long time board member and past president of SIPA and the SIIA and in 2020 was part of a group that founded Renewd, of which I am currently co-chair. I majored in government at Cornell University and got my MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship at Babson College.

I’d like help with…

People looking to develop professionally. I am particularly interested in nurturing diversity in our industry and in the financial/investing field.

An interesting, or unusual fact(s) about me…

I enjoy music, travel, reading, playing ice hockey, watching ice hockey, cycling, swimming, running, hiking and spending time with Nancy, family, friends and our cat Buckaroo Banzai (Buck for short). We live in Salem, Massachusetts, a small history-filled city about 10 miles up the coast from Boston.

A career highlight

Launching a new $10,000/year service that sold out in 10 hours and created a waiting list, renewing those folks at $15K a year later, and reselling the few slots that opened up at $17.5K. Looking forward to next year.
