Sarah's professional bio / interests

I really have worked throughout the entire supply I have grown, picked, packed, technically managed, promoted and sold produce crops over the last 25 years Initially training to be a buyer, my career has given me experience in the growing and marketing of crops, funding applications, regional and national strategy, the development and delivery of business plans, audit management, the development of successful retailer partnerships, presenting key issues to the media (tv and radio), securing large amounts of funding, delivering training, developing and driving social media strategies. Through the breadth of businesses who have retained my skills I have gathered a depth of knowledge of British farming, it’s policy needs & desired direction of travel. I currently wear several hats; as a Founding Partner of PiP I have a select group of amazing businesses whom I shout about, write about promote and help grow, as a Non Exec Director of The Covent Garden Market Authority I have the privilege of being a part of the regeneration of London’s premier wholesale market, as a NED of the Agri-Epi Centre I’m part of a brilliant team delivering the future of British Farming. As Chair of the National Fruit show (11 years this year) I continue to lead this fabulous organisation helped by an amazing team we are heading towards our 88th show, the biggest and best yet! I was delighted to have been appointed the new Operations Director of British Apples and Pears Ltd in June 2018, this leading sector representative body has a strong track record of lobbying, awareness raising & the promotion of the Great top fruit we grow in the UK. Its a strong team supported by excellent PR provision and the best Chair to lobby strongly for the sector, what this space, its going to be amazing. I write regularly for the farming trade press, appear on local radio and if there is ever a spare moment I direct the odd play or sing in a choir (I’m also a bake off reject, twice over, I’ve learnt my lesson)
