Mel's professional bio / interests

I am a professionally trained coach and award-winning marketing strategist who specialises in helping start-ups and entrepreneurs to develop and build a meaningful brand and market presence in a cost-effective way. My approach is to use whichever blend of strategic marketing advice, mentoring and coaching works best for my client so they can make decisions which are authentic, cost efficient and targeted. I work in partnership with clients to explore and define a brand and marketing strategy which is totally aligned to their business objectives, capabilities, and the resources they have available to devote to marketing. I enable my clients to create their own marketing strategy, which we review and finesse together. This gives them true ownership of their approach alongside the benefit of my 30 years of expertise in a highly cost effective way. As both an internationally acclaimed marketing strategist, and an independent business owner, I know the challenges start-ups are facing, and how to overcome them. I spent 30 years creating and leading the award-winning marketing strategies and teams behind some of the Midlands’ most visited destination brands including Bullring, Grand Central, Highcross Leicester and the region’s canals and waterways. I have also worked with much smaller, but equally important brands. I have worked with and within companies ranging from small start-ups to FTSE100s, charities, quangos and public sector organisations. I have run my own business for 16 years and have set up and sold an incredible fire engine mobile bar. I am a professionally trained business coach and member of the International Coaching Federation. If you would like to get your marketing started in a meaningful way, call me on 07740 650221 or email me: [email protected]

An interesting, or unusual fact(s) about me…

I used to own - and drive - an awesome Dennis fire engine converted into a mobile bar selling perfectly chilled craft beer and fine wines - so I'm a dab hand at changing a barrel.

A career highlight

September 4th 2003 when, after 4 crazily busy years of changing perceptions and building brand awareness, Bullring opened it's doors for the very first time - and over 375,000 people and 40 different media channels answered my call. There have been many other highlights since, including starting my own business, but this was the first biggy for me.
