A Costs Lawyer with 20 years experience I help solicitors to maximise their fees by providing assistance with the legal costs process, delivering training and providing a range of consultancy services. I enable solicitors to optimise their fees, by understanding their value to clients, ensuring their fee structures are appropriate and that accurate estimates and appropriate fixed prices are provided to clients. I assist them to fully harness their retainers, manage their time and reduce wasted costs and inefficiencies. I advise on all aspect of civil legal costs including costs arising from detailed assessment proceedings and the costs management process. I provide a comprehensive legal costs service acting for both paying parties and receiving parties. including drafting bill of costs, negotiating settlements, preparing Replies to Points of Dispute and drafting Points of Disputes and attending detailed assessments. I prepare Cost budgets, Precedent Rs and attend Costs and Case Management Conferences. My experience covers a wide range of legal practices working both in-house at international solicitors, high street practices and for national legal costs consultancies. Having trained at Irwin Mitchell Solicitors I managed offices for both MRN Solicitors and Just Costs Solicitors and established Chantry Costs Consultants in 2012. I combine technical expertise with a wide range of experience advising on technical issues in fixed costs cases through to significant bills and budgets in excess of £1 million.
