Head of Core Services, Zopa
Isabel's professional bio / interests
With a global career spanning multiple sectors, I bring a unique ability to join dots and people in order to push real innovation and cultural change boundaries. I have been in Financial Services for over 10 years as a thought leader in Payments, Cyber Security and Open Banking. And has most recently been responsible for a major bank within the UK moving to the Cloud, with significant maternal outsourcing partnerships communicated to the regulators. I am passionate about inclusivity both from a finance perspective but also at an industry level. I feel strongly that Finance and Payments must be more representative of society in order to ensure everyone benefits from technology advancements. In my current role as Head of Core Services, I report directly to the CTO and am responsible for leading the Product strategy for Core Function enablers which support all of Zopa's Consumer and product journeys. These include Payments, Open Banking, Transaction Data, Membership Data, Consumer Authentication, Bureau Integration and Evidence store. It's a 'jump out of bed' role, where the scaling foundation decisions made will play a critical role in enabling Zopa's growth journey.

A career highlight
Taking Lloyds Bank Payments rails (faster payments, bacs & cards) in to the Cloud and running the function/delivery as if it was my own business. Not having the layers of the bank between what I was doing and the scheme and regulators was a once in a lifetime accelerated learning experience. Also, my first ever project where I got to work in the Athletes village for the 2000 Sydney Olympics. It really set the tone for the scale and size of the problems I wanted to be a part of solving in future.
