Irene Marillat
School Librarian, Retired
Irene‘s professional bio / interests
Worked in Secondary Education for 30 years, believe a Library is the heart of the School, a community hub and resource for all, Clubs, Literary Events and safe space. I was also National Organiser for Kids Lit Quiz UK, rewarding the sport of reading.
I'm passionate about the power of reading to change lives. Although I'm retired I still work with School Librarians for SLA UK - Surrey, helping with INSET etc. Photography, Technology and Craft work also keeps me busy.
We still have many children's books in the house as I am fortunate to juggle grandma duties; we have a growing family of 6 grandchildren across 2 continents from my beautiful 3 daughters.
