MPhil Student in Multi-disciplinary Gender Studies, University of Cambridge
Lara‘s professional bio / interests
I spent my childhood and adolescence living in culturally distinct and diverse cities. Doing so shaped me into a dedicated, focused, and inquisitive thinker early in life. After receiving my IB in Copenhagen, I moved to London, where I received a certificate in professional acting. During my acting studies, I developed an initial interest in how relationships form through symbolic networks, especially between audiences and actors. Upon completing my acting training, I entered the English with Creative Writing program at Queen Mary University of London. There, I sharpened my study of symbolic networks through language and literature. I am now focusing this study further by pursuing an MPhil in Multi-disciplinary Gender Studies at the University of Cambridge, where I am researching the symbolic networks through which gender identities form. Based on this research, I am particularly interested in careers that focus on developing relations between organisations, media, and public awareness, such as consulting, public relations, and communications.
