Sara Lowry
UX Designer, The BBC
Sara‘s professional bio / interests
I have been a UX Designer at The BBC for nearly two years, however, this is my first role in UX so I am still quite fresh to the design and tech industry. I transitioned into UX from a sales background by completing a UX bootcamp during the pandemic, it is truly the best thing I have ever done! I have worked in the iPlayer, News and Sport teams so far but I am also interested in voice technology, accessibility, AI and sustainable UX.
I’d like help with…
- Improving visibility of UX design as a potential career for girls
- Empowering women to work in influential tech roles
- Practice public speaking to gain confidence and calm my imposter syndrome
- Showing potential future employers my passion for UX and women in tech
An interesting, or unusual fact(s) about me…
I am related to L.S. Lowry (the fella who painted the funny little stick men artworks). My mum used to love telling all my art teachers this!
I live in
GB
A career highlight
Landing my first UX role at The BBC was pretty epic!
