I started out in Marine Biology (a far cry from FinTech!). I learned most of my analysis skills working as an assistant researcher in a coral reef laboratory. Working with living things has taught me to have patience and resilience, and to adapt to changing circumstances.

Early in my career I had the opportunity to join a new team after their product owner left, with only seven months of experience as a junior product owner. Taking on new responsibilities, learning new skills and working with new people enabled me to gain enough experience to be promoted to product owner, a position I am currently thriving in. This challenge was the perfect learning experience for me to accelerate my professional development, and helped me get out of my comfort zone.
