Gulbanu's research focuses on judgment and decision-making with special interest in designing communications for informed decision-making and interventions for positive behaviour change in the areas of food consumption and waste. Gulbanu was an Expert Member of the European Commission's Consumer Food Waste Forum that aimed to reduce consumer food waste in Europe. She has led and been involved in numerous UK and internationally-funded research projects, with external partners including UK government agencies and businesses. Gulbanu is particularly interested in projects that require multidisciplinary collaborations between academics and practitioners.
