Lebogang‘s professional bio / interests
Lebogang Montewa is a science communicator/ storyteller/filmmaker and a short story writer Ph.D. candidate department of Medicine, at UCT. Her work seeks to pioneer innovative and creative community engagement practices that foster ethical conversations in health research. Her areas of interest are science communication, community engagement, narrative genomics, neuroethics as well as Nature and the Environment. Her life’s work is to use science communication to foster ethical conversations and highlight Africa’s excellence and emerging scientific discoveries. Much of her inspiration is drawn from Chinua Achebe, who in his 1994 interview with the Paris Review said, "Until the lions have their own historians, tales of African hunting will always glorify the hunter.
