Grant‘s professional bio / interests
I am an innovative public educator living in St. Paul, MN. I hold a BA from Gustavus Adolphus College and an M.Ed. in Second Languages and Cultures Education from the University of Minnesota. My joy is pioneering equitable, engaging and effective language learning spaces where each student belongs, acquires confidence and competence, and sees themselves as a natural language learner. I am an experienced teacher trainer, presenter and keynote speaker. I am also a potter.

An interesting, or unusual fact(s) about me…
I speak three languages. I have lived and worked in the USA, Spain, and Germany. I am also a part-time professional potter. I exhibit and sell my ceramic art at the Grand Hand Gallery in Saint Paul, MN. I love working with my hands. I am married to an SPPS EL teacher and have two beautiful daughters, aged 17 and 19.

A career highlight
I am a 2017 ACTFL National Language Teacher of the Year Finalist, 2016 Central States TOY and 2015 MCTLC TOY. An image of one of my ceramic teapots is published in the book 500 Teapots, Volume 2, by Lark Publishing.
