Martin‘s professional bio / interests
I am Global Director of Impact at the international sustainability non-profit Forum for the Future, which focuses on transforming food, energy and business for a just and regenerative future. I am also a trustee of the New Economics Foundation (a think tank focusing on social, economic and environmental justice). A regular speaker and moderator at global ocean and sustainability events, I am the former Head of the World Ocean Initiative at The Economist Group and led Economist Impact’s sustainability practice in the EMEA region. I sit on several advisory boards, including the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s Inclusive Economies Advisory Group, the Sustainable Brands Turkey Global Advisory Board and the North Atlantic Carbon Observatory. Systemic and futures approaches to aquaculture. Forum for the Future ( is a leading international sustainability non-profit with offices in the UK, US, India and Southeast Asia. We have vast experience in applying systems approaches to addressing social and environmental challenges and co-creating solutions with local partners and end-users. For example, our Protein Challenge Southeast Asia is a multi-year inquiry that has worked with stakeholders across the food system in Southeast Asia. We would like to partner with a project lead based in an eligible UK research organisation to support them with the development of interdisciplinary systems approaches and to leverage our experience and contacts in building sustainable food systems in Southeast Asia.
