Formerly a computer designer, Ashley is a FinTech and privacy partner at a well known law firm. Ashley advises on financial regulatory, encryption and export control, data protection, privacy and cyber security matters with particular emphasis on Blockchain, virtual currencies, e-money, payment systems, and highly regulated platforms. Ashley is a Ponemon Institute Fellow and for many years has been the Chairman of the Data Protection Forum, the largest independent data protection group in the UK. He regularly speaks at industry and academic conferences. My final project at University was a control system for a large laser, which caught on fire on the day of the demonstration to the examiners. :-(
