James‘s professional bio / interests
James's experience of developing and implementing successful marketing programmes covers across a wide spectrum of companies, from start-ups and scale-ups to multinationals. This is coupled with a strong business development background, ensuring that marketing programmes align with key commercial goals. He started his career in marketing and innovation over 20 years ago working for a travel tech start-up in Sydney. From there he went on to work for globally renowned advertising agency Ogilvy, leading marketing programmes for clients including Cisco and Philips. During his 2 years as Chief Marketing Officer at Immerse they went on to become the market leader in enterprise VR, winning numerous industry awards along the way. He has now set up XRTech Marketing, a consultancy focused solely on the immersive technology sector. As the sector matures and expands, his consultancy addresses a clear need for companies to be able to develop their marketing programmes alongside product development. James is a regular keynote speaker including: Women of Silicon Roundabout, SXSW 2017, World VR Forum (Switzerland), New Realities (Berlin), Connected World Summit, Wearable Technology Show, Laval Virtual (France), AR/VR Innovate, Reach 2020, VR Days and VRAR Global Summit 2020.
