David‘s professional bio / interests
A classically trained marketeer with 21+ years of digital experience, including 10 years of consultancy projects. I started out in tourism marketing, for Chester, then York, before roles at Swallow Hotels, then Consort, which merged with Best Western Hotels. Superbreak asked me to develop their web business in 2000, which grew exponentially for a number of years. Moving out of PLC roles, I launched Yorkshire.com for Welcome to Yorkshire and managed other consultancy projects before establishing Braid with my ex Superbreak colleague Brian Schur, in 2012. Braid audits digital plans and activity, develops and delivers digital strategy. We are regularly hired to manage the delivery of digital-related projects, particularly to ensure multiple agencies deliver against deadlines, budget, scope and goals. We audit companies marketing and functions, specifically around the use of technology. The review of activity, resource, results and skills help us to construct a range of activities to meet business objectives. This is frequently related to lead acquisition, sales, branding and customer service solutions. We manage the changes, including agencies and team skills. Digital transformation, in reality, needs nuts and bolt changes; we plan and deliver them.
