Genealogist, Retired
Susan‘s professional bio / interests
Before retiring I worked as a PA at Victoria University of Wellington for their Foundation which is the fundraising arm of the University. All my working career I worked as a Secretary and PA in offices. For the past 8 years being retired I have indulged in my passion for family history. I am on the Committee of the Kilbirnie Branch of the NZ Society of Genealogists here in Wellington where I live; I'm editor of the Kilbirnie Branch monthly newsletter; I'm on the committee of the NZSG Scottish Special Interest Group for Greater Wellington and have just become the Editor of the Kiwi Kith and Kin magazine for the New Zealand Scottish Interest Group. When we aren't in pandemic lockdown I volunteer every Tuesday afternoon at Archives New Zealand indexing records for insertion on their website. You can see where my interests lie! The remainder of my time is spent with my husband and seeing my three adult children and visiting my elderly father who is 99 years old. My profile photo is my sister Robyn (blonde) on the left hand side and me on the right (dark haired) - appropriate I thought for a One-Name Studies photo.
I’d like help with…
Everything at this stage as I am a newbie and need to find out as much as I can before registering my one-name study.

A career highlight
At the age of 46, I went to University as a mature student, studying history, French and European Studies - it was there I discovered my love for research.
