One month into my first ever job all of the other members of the department quit and so I was promoted from 'Sales and Marketing Intern' to 'Interim Head of Department'. To this day it's still the single biggest jump up the career ladder I know of. I was demoted almost instantly of course, as soon as they hired another member of staff, but I had a fun couple of weeks at the top whilst it lasted.
