Lucyโ€˜s professional bio / interests
If you're sick of the same old business coaching & training options out there, then you'll find my approach refreshingly effective. At Flourish Unlimited I use creative design thinking tools, exercises & workshops to enable small business owners & their teams to: *Make better decisions *Solve the problems your customers care about *Improve your processes *Increase your profits *Build your business Supporting small business owners to work differently - not harder - to make decisions & find solutions that lead to innovation & growth is my main focus. Thanks to some of the clients I've worked with over the years, I've discovered that design thinking can be a breath of fresh air for neurodivergent small business owners. This is because it's a non-linear, iterative process, that has elements of creativity, flexibility & repetition built right in. This is why I run the 'NeurOkay' program alongside Alison Wombwell, a highly regarded Neurodiversity Coach. Together we've combined our skill sets to offer: *A program of support that addresses both the business & personal needs - emotional regulation, executive functioning etc - of neurodivergent small business owners *CPD accredited Neurodiversity in the Workplace training for organisations looking to improve the workplace support available to their neurodivergent employees. The program can be fully funded by Access to Work, so is accessible to all & impactful in the results it provides. I've travelled far & wide in order to grow my own skills & knowledge of design thinking, but I'm aware that not everyone has that privilege, or access to such opportunities. So it's important to me to ensure that business' in my local area are able to benefit from what I've learnt, to start/grow their business'. That's why, as a Co-Creator of the UK's first accredited design thinking course for small business owners, it's a win for me to have collaborated with Phil Teasdale at EMS & I'm proud that we brought this (fully funded) course to the Tees Valley before it's available anywhere else in the UK. From 2023 I'll be co-hosting A Beginners Guide to Design Thinking, alongside former Shark/Ninja Design Director, Tracy Sharp. It'll be great to use this podcast platform to raise awareness of the positive impact design thinking can bring to both business & life. Most mornings you'll find me riding my bike along the seafront where we live, or reading a good book with a coffee in the garden. I'm a fair-weather lover of both - bikes and mornings in the garden. Not coffee, coffee is an all year round addiction! ๐Ÿ˜‰

An interesting, or unusual fact(s) about meโ€ฆ
I once got stuck in a revolving door with Imelda Marcus. (My shoes were definitely nicer than hers! ๐Ÿ˜‰) I once arrived at the wrong entrance for a meeting at The Pentagon, so was escorted through the building by a US Marine. He walked backwards closing doors and shutting blinds as he went. (Pre 9/11 obviously.)
