Marisa‘s professional bio / interests
Marisa Engelbrecht matriculated from Hoërskool Hendrik Verwoerd in 1996. After working in Germany for a year, she began her studies in International Communication at Pretoria Technikon. She achived her Diploma and later her B.Tech in International Communications. Later she also completed her M.Tech in Strategic Communications with the focus on effective communication with visually impaired employees in the South African workplace. She started her career in PR and marketing and later worked as a journalist, where she was nominated for several awards and served on the exco of the National Press Club for four years. 15 Years ago, she joined the team at Solidarity, a South African trade union on the forefront of innovation. She is co-writer of the book: Die Christen en sy werk, and is part of the exco of Kraal Uitgewers. Marisa currently specialises in the development of new occupational guilds for various occupations in South Africa, and creating relevant networking and training opportunities for its members.
