On 1st October 2024 Guild will close down.
The Guild platform will officially close on 1 October 2024. Guild will no longer be live or usable after that date.
Since its launch, Guild has evolved from a private messaging app for executives and entrepreneurs to a feature-rich community and networking platform for professionals of all types from all over the globe.
Our vision was always to create a space where professionals of all types could find their people and belong to communities that could elevate their career or further their business goals. With no ads, privacy by design and a distinctly professional tone in a mobile-first package we felt we had created something unique and necessary. Over 108,000 members have joined since launch and more than 7,000 communities have been created on Guild.
However, we’re still a small business and yet to turn a profit and so have relied on the investor market to keep growing thus far. That market has been challenging over the past 18 months and has changed to favour businesses that have proven profitability, rather than growth alone. As a network product, this was particularly challenging for Guild as all of our efforts had gone into growing the network. We have been unable to prove our profitability in time for our next investment round. We have also failed to find an acquirer who fully believes in our vision for Guild and is ready to invest. So, we are forced to close the business.
To our customers, thank you for your loyalty and support. We appreciate this is disappointing and may present an onerous task to migrate your community to a new home. For this we apologise. We will reach out to you directly about next steps and assure you we will refund unfulfillable subscriptions and manage your data appropriately. In the meantime, we have answered some questions here.
We are reluctant to recommend an alternative as we believe Guild offers something unique but we did post about other platforms here recently that may be helpful.
To those who have joined Guild communities, we thank you for your interest in what we were trying to create and your contributions. We hope you find a new home for all that you have to share and learn.
